Hacking How far has the Nintendo 2DS been hacked?

EmuNAND9/Decrypt9 - They can restore a backup if you ever brick. (Brick - basically destroy your software, rendering it unusable)
Luma3DS - Most commonly used CFW
No exploits - Turn your system on and you're in a CFW. No menuhax/browserhax needed

So basically its permenant CFW which turns on automatically every time you boot up the system? And I can access all ROMS and Homebrew and unbricking tools from the main menu without having to go into separate applications#

am I right? and the most popular CFW=Luma3ds?

Yep, all installed from CIAs.
Except for the unbricking tools, those are A9LH payloads. They load by holding certain button combinations down when you turn the system on.

Eh for now. Who knows what Nintendo might cook up. But yeah, its very likely that they won't be able to remove A9LH.

Yes.

EDIT: Actually, I'm not sure about the downgrading. If NAND backups keep the version, then yes, you can.

As long as the downgrade is non-reliant on FIRM and you flash while keeping A9LH

or you are absolutely sure you won't brick when you flash it and let it replace A9LH

Decrypt9 lets you do a bunch of NAND-related stuff like dump xorpads (basically passwords) for games and NANDs, and it also lets you manage SysNAND.

EmuNand9 can only mess with Emu(Red)Nand and format your SD so it's ready for (or removal of) Emu(Red)Nand.

Actually, EmuNand9 can only backup sysnand. It can't restore it (I think the developer did this on purpose, too)

Why? If everything goes according to plan, you shouldn't need a hardmod.

Well if you mess something up during the process, you might have to wait till you have hardmod to use the 3DS.
