Hey everybody, I'm new to the passing scene havning recently acquired a Superpass and Supercard for my DS. Now I was just wondering if anybody could give me instructions on how to copy my save files from original DS cards onto an SD card then onto a PC where I can transfer it later to my flashed games. I know of 2 programs, etool & rain, but have no idea how to use them, assuming they are the right ones. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Etool or Rain (now known as Rein) will do the job. It's a pretty simple process. I remember a version of ETOOL that would change a 64k save into a supercard save. All is explained in the ETOOL readme's but REIN hardly ever release a English readme.

This was the version i used to used back when i needed to do this:

Some good replies here so far.

Just to organise a bit, here are 2 questions pending:

1. Does rain/etool work with M3/CF or EZ4?
2. Slightly off topic, but with the 'saver' menu, what does it mean when it says "do you want to copy to SD card - yes/no?" I believe I erased my sonic rush save file somehow when I went yes/no, I can't really remember.. should I just leave this part untouched?

Hey again..

I'm having trouble getting rein to boot up with my supercard/passme/sd combo.
And I've tried using E-tool, but dunno how to extract the .sav file for the DS game onto the PC..
Can someone explain clearly how I go about this?
Sorry for sounding very inept about his whole thing, but any clarity would be much appreciated!

Can I just get some clarification too? I've been playing castlevania on the original ds card, but now I have SC+superkey I want to play it from my supercard but using the save from the original card. If I've understood correctly, I need to

1) put catlevania cart in ds slot
2) put rein or e-tool on the supercard
3) start ds in gba mode and run rein or e-tool
4) extract save file from ds card onto SC
5) with computer rename save file to match castlevania rom on SC
6) play castlevania on SC

Is that correct, or have I got it completely wrong!

Yes! I got it working! Thanks heaps Funky, and especially you faceless!

Here's a complete process of what I did for those who have trouble working out the ins & outs of DS emu:

1. Ensure you have these 2 programs:
* Rein (Rein15)
* Supercard Converter (scconv01)
2. Drag REIN.nds onto scconv
3. Put the newly created REIN.SC.nds file onto the SD card
4. Start the DS in DS mode with the Supercard & SD together in the GBA slot,
and the Superpass and DS game (eg. MPH-FH demo) in the DS slot
5. Locate and open up the REIN.SC.nds file
6. It will say a Superpass is inserted and that it can't read valid save files..
.. but just press A anyway to bring up the Rein menu
7. Now remove the Superpass and insert the original DS card which you want to work with
8. Select BACKUP, press A, and again to confirm the process
9. Once completed, press A to return back to the Rein menu screen
10. Repeat procedure with a new DS card as necessary

To restore DS saves:
9. Select RESTORE
10. Choose the save file which is to be restored onto the DS card from the selction present on your
root file list, and press Start to confirm

Easy as. Cheers!
