El-rekka or e-ru-ka??
Eh-rue-ka 7 is how I pronounce it.
I personally say: Yer-eek-ah.
because it's right.
I pronounced it like the french word:
a (like english determinant, a tool, a fish, whatever) + ré (like french accented É) + ka
eurêka : it's an interjection, from a Greek word meaning "great! I found it!"
Like Mario telling you that you smell bad.
Warning! Crap illustration inside.
I laughed harder than I should have.
I honestly say it differently every time I have to say it.
I used to say el-rekka but now I tend to say Er-ukka, but sometimes I say it some other way.
Good anime by the way, one of the first I ever watched.
how do you pronounce "el" ? there's no L letter in eureka.
eurêka /ø.ʁɛ.ka/ (that's the French pronunciation)
Eureka /jʊˈriːkə/ (this one is the english one, so it's Yooreaka)
from the verb εὑρίσκω, heurískô (« finding »).
I wanted to follow this anime, but discovered it was the second season
I watched episode 0 which is a recap of season1, but I didn't understand a thing.
The truth has been spoken.
you reek ah
For those wondering, the word itself is pronounced You-reek-uh, bt the show follows the different pronunciation of Yur-eek-uh, as showcased here by Tom.
Italian smelly in English,
Oi-Reh-ka in German
You Wreak, ah!
No idea how you could possibly come up with ellrekka or even errukka. Have you never seen this show?
How did you get El-rekka?
Anyway, I pronounce it Your-e-ka.
