How do you play Pokemon games?

I was wondering whether I'm the only who plays Pokemon just for the story experience. I usually complete the Elite Four and the extra stuff that is available after that, and then start over with a new team. I never bothered completing the Pokedex, competive Wifi/Local battling or grinding for the battle zone. Maybe for doing the E4 a second time (with higher levels), but after that I get quickly bored with an advanced team that smashes every trainer ingame. In which way do you play them?

I just play for the story, then for the Battle Frontier. After that, I get bored and stop playing; I don't even bother starting a new game.

I play for collecting Pokemon... Not for the Pokedex.
The story sucks, it's always like:

Blah blah super awesome legendary Pokemon causing crap
blah blah random bad Pokemon people try to steal it
blah blah you see it and capture it with stuff you got from random wise dude
blah

I'm almost 22 years old, and i play pokemon games since the first one!! My first one was blue, i found it in a raining day, in belgium, I like to play it cuz you can find things, fight etc and also cuz it's a game i know since i was very small

Play clear it for 100% thats my way, I love it to see new pocket monsters I do not know yet!

Do the main story, beat the Elite Four and then do any post-game missions. Usually at that point I stop playing regularly but when I do switch it on I attempt to complete the Pokédex. Still haven't done that though, at just under 400 on Pearl and 120 on SoulSilver.

I like to do everything.

Talk to every NPC.
Beat every trainer.
Beat the Elite Four.
Find every item.
Then start on pokemon collection if I'm bored.
