How do you get videos off Youtube?

I'm really wondering how to get videos off Youtube.

again i don't want to have to install anything, but i want to have them to be able to be put on my ipod

Well the only one I know of without installing anything is: http://www.zamzar.com/url/

You can select the output and they email you a link to download it. Sometimes it takes long to get the email.

Well, there's a site called www.keepvid.com that let's you download videos off youtube.

Suggestions so far are good (I used www.keepvid.com back when) but two things spring to mind.

If you have greasemonkey with firefox I use a script called youtube enhancer:
http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/33042

I did have another addon called download helper that also worked for a lot of other sites for just about everything that was streamed but I have not added it on this machine yet.

Note youtube and most other sites are useless if you want to do anything with them *pours beer for Stage6.com*

Reach your hand into your computer screen (try not to break it), grab the video, pull it out. Then you can do whatever you want with it. Good luck

+1 easy + effective and then if i need to convert it to another file format i use total video converter.

Why download any plugins or anything? There's a site called iDesktop that downloads the movie from YouTube to their server, and then you can convert it to any file format, yes INCLUDING a format directly for iPod! It's a godsend. It really is.
