Hey everyone, I have question. I want to get the script/all the text of a game to translate it. But I don't know how to get it out of the ROM. Is there a program for that? If so, could someone please tell me which program you need and where to download it? Thanks in advance [IMG]

By no means is this meant to be complete, or accurate for that matter -- it's all pretty well beyond me, but...

    Unpack the ROM.
Go through the files and look for which file has the text (usually this can be narrowed down by name/location).
View the file and figure out it's offsets. (You can see an example here)
Write an app that extracts (and eventually repacks) the text using the offsets you found for line/page and various color and name codes.

There is no universal tool, and they (99% of the time?) aren't stored in plain text files.
