I have installed the latest version of USB loader gx. I have NTFS Wii ver 4.3 hacked using ModMii with latest hacks. All games I've found and installed work, though I can't get the USB controllers to work in Rock Band 1 or the Beatles Rock Band from usb loader. I tried applying a cIOS 222 and running it under the game settings (described here) but this method may be out of date at this point. As far as that method goes, I tried the hack I have installed already, then uninstalled ios 222 and reinstalled it like mentioned in the link. Like I said, I've applied most of the hacks already, but there is clearly something that I am missing in order to make the USB instruments work. I have USB Loader mounted to port 0, so I have to put the instruments in the other port. Any up to date advice about this would help. Thanks.

Try ios 223, start up modmii, press 4 and then type rec(enter) this will download all recommended cios to a folder called COPY_TO_SD/WAD, use MMM to install the wads in that folder to your wii and all should be ok.

Well I installed version 4 patch for both 222 and 223 and neither solved the problem. When I go into game settings and change the IOS to either 222 or 223, a blank screen loads when I have the game load normally and it crashes. Otherwise, if I load it with the default IOS, I get the instrument issue again.

My friends and I still haven't figured this problem out. Please help.
Try cfg-loader - it's supposed to have better compatability, with usb peripherals.
I myself, use it it for beatles rockband, with 2 mics (not instruments), off the 2nd usb port (using a 4 port usb hub).

You need hermes 222 installed (which I think you should already have) and you should use the cfg70-222.dol version instead of the regular one.

Whilst it may not your loader of choice, (I also use GX), try it, to see if it at least works, then you can at least play untill you figure out, how to get GX working properly.
