Hacking How do i use Action replay codes with my acekard

How do use action replay codes with my acekard, and how do insert them and activate them ?

On a game file, hit "y". Then press cheats.

download the usercheat file from the cheat database put in cheat folder and press y then select to go through the cheat catalog

when i start the game i press Y and then i enters the cheat menu... then comes a list of cheat codes, then i click on them i want to activate, and a ''rightmark'' appears on the them i activated. then i press select and start the game, the cheat said that i needed to press select to start it, i pressed it no cheats were activated. ??
