Homebrew How do I use 3ds online features with Homebrew? (Fire Emblem: If related)

Tbh, it's really hard to tell what you've done as its not in front of me.
1. Did you brick emunand
2. Tell me what emunand is and how you created it (this may be weird but just try)

Edit: I have this nagging feeling that you actually updated sysnand. You don't seem to know wtf emunand even is.

Do both of the mentioned custom firmwares allow me to use my online features and in a region free way? My examples being a USA Pokemon Omega Ruby and a Japanese Fire Emblem If: SE. Also which is easiest to install or are they both about equally easy? Sorry for all the questions but this is the first time I have done something like this.

I have heard using online features in region free games can lead to bans, so I might not recommend it.

I'd like to check but I am having a hard time getting the newest RxTools to work. When I try have it activate using the BrowserHax I get a black screen. Any ideas or a comprehensive guide to RxTools' new version?

also, I'd reccomend using menuhax instead of browserhax. it works better (at least for me. browser hax was buggy as hell last time I used it.)

1. I'm not exactly sure it is bricked but it might be. The reason for this is because I have been messing with things all day so I am not sure if the emuNAND is working or not. Now I could try if I could remember another way to launch it.

The emunand is 9.5 and it was created following this tutorial: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-how-to-install-a-cfw-on-a-9-0-9-2-n3ds-without-cn-oot.398394/

I went Method 2 for installing a cia manager, I used method 1 to setup EmuNAND, and used RXTools as the CFW.

Note: My emunand was originally 9.2 until I updated it to 9.5.

How to Update to a Newer rxTools Version​

Download the latest RxTools nightly build here or here, or get the latest release/pre-release here.
Download and install Python version 2.7 if you don't have it
Direct Windows installer link
If you are using Windows, right-click the rxtools zip and open Properties. If at the bottom, it says the file is blocked, check "Unblock" and Apply. This should take care of any problems you have with the following steps.

Backup and delete any "rxtools" folder that you may have on your SD card before doing the following steps!

Place:
1. the "rxtools" folder on the SD card root.
2. the "firm" folder inside of the "rxtools" folder. How to get it:

• Run cdn_firm.py in the "Tools" folder. It will generate a firm folder in the same folder that cdn_firm.py is in. The firm folder must go into the rxTools folder like so: SD:/rxtools/firm

3. For ninjhax users, you also need to replace the rxtools.3dsx and rxtools.smdh found inside the ninjhax folder in the rxtools download zip.
It should look like this:
SD:\3ds\rxTools\rxtools.3dsx
SD:\3ds\rxTools\rxtools.smdh

I previously used RxTools nightly is there any difference between the nightly and other versions that would make it mess up? When I updated it I just deleted the old RxTools and put the new one in the place it told me to. I also was able to get to my 3ds homebrew using the boot.3dsx from the cake homebrew I had (which I think I used when I originally set my homebrew up.) previously (it's a good thing I am not deleting zip files but rather keeping them as backups just in case).

Well I now have progress sort of....

I can boot up the homebrew menu using browserhax but it freezes if I try to use RxTools and yes I followed what it said in your quoted post but....as I said progress.

Edit: I can now make it to the installation data suite of RxTools but it hangs on that screen and I have to reinstall my EmuNAND every single time using EmuNANDTool being as that RXTools seems to brick my EmuNAND. Ugh....does anyone have any ideas on how to get pass RxTools hanging on the installation data suite?

I have everything all set up now. EmuNAND is the latest, Eshop works, ect. I now have a couple of more questions. Which would be easier to go about for online play for Fire Emblem: If (JPN)? Would a .cia or Sky3DS+ be easier?

I've been using the My Castle Feature of Fire Emblem: If (ENG Patch) just fine with no ban . I heard about that too by the way but I think it's on flashcarts only where you run the risk from what I read.
