I heard you can just update straight to it without updating to GEN-A, B, C, then D since this is a firmware flasher. Could I get a step by step on how to update?

Well this is after you put the files on the psp memory stick.
1. Launch the installer.
2. Agree to the programs crap.
3. Select first option I think.
4. Allow it flash.
5. Restart or shut down psp.
