Hacking How do I run homebrew, backups, and DVD-Rs (mplayer)?

To be honest, no I havent. Wanted advice from here seeing as this seems more official than other sites.

Just Googled and all guides say a net connection is required.

I'm making you an offline 3.2u downgrader right now. It will include:
WAD Manager
IOS16
WAD Manager Custom IOS16
IOS30 v1040
SystemMenu-v289
Starfall
CIOSCORP
cIOS36 rev7

Thats enough to get you onto System Menu 3.2u and Running backups as well as having a working WAD Manager. All offline installs.

For the record, I have IOS16-64-v257.wad so now I just need to know how to do it.

The first thread didnt give much info and the second I already checked out but Ill retry it again. Im not too sure to try it out as there is a risk of bricking and this is not my Wii.

then just get the systemmenu 290.

That's the only one that's region specific

So simply removing SystemMenu-v289.wad from the WADs folder and adding the System Menu v290 wad into that same folder will not brick my Wii and it will work?

Remember this is not my Wii. Please confirm this jinxvorheeze

That is correct. The same method can apply just change out 289 for 290 and you'll be fine

Damn it I downloaded a wii-system-menu-update-PAL-v290-repad.wad but it about 1GB in size! What should I download that is a way smaller version that this? (filename only)

That's an iso, rip the wad using trucha signer or wii scrubber

Like Quincy already said learn to use the search or look into the stickies if you don´t find your answer
ask your question there and don´t open another thread for your problem you are not the only one and if everyone would do this ...
