I keep turning it off in services.msc, but the motherfucker starts up randomly. How do I stop this?

If your reply has anything mentioning that I should run an OS other than Vista, then don't bother posting.

Why don't you just turn it off in the settings of Windows Media Center? Or uncheck it from msconfig. I'd do the first and use the second as a last resort.

Yeah, windows key + R, type in msconfig, hit enter, startup tab

-OR-
assuming you already know that, there is a program out there called something like startup blocker which would prevent services from re-entering the startup list, but I can't remember the exact name for the life of me. I know its installed on my mom's computer and I can check it later if OP doesn't find another solution
