How do I make it so that VLC isnt the default media player?

I recently installed VLC and it shows the icon on every media in my computer now. Im guessing that it's making it open VLC now each time I choose a media file [mp3, avi, flv and stuff].

Anyway how do you make it so it isnt the defaut player?

Open "this computer"
Go to: "Tools" in the menu bar
Go to: "File types" in the pop up
wait until it has loaded all the file extensions...
now search all those mp3, avi, flv etc files and "change..." their program asociation (or however it is spelled)

In windows media player , go to tools, options, file type.

or right click a file, choose open with

Add/ Remove Programs - > Set Program Access and Defaults

Or look in the options of your new fave program and choose to set it as default for whatever you like

Also most media playing apps (well mpc/winamp/etcetc) lets you set it as the default player for different formats in it's preferences.

It's really easy to set the default app for any file type in WinXP (don't know about Vista). Right click on a file of whatever type, go to "Open With ->" and then "Choose Program...". From there you can select any app on your computer to open the file.

If you check the box for "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" it will use that app whenever you double click on that type of file.
