How do I make an .xml shortcut appear in the homebrew launcher?

That's really it, I made an xml. shortcut to open Xash3DS half-life in dev mode but it wont appear in the homebrew launcher for me to open.

Doesn't it have to be a .3dsx file?

On the github for the homebrew menu it says it supports making xml shortcuts to open .3dsx files with extra arguments. But that's it, no other info on how to do it or where to put the files or open them, so I was hoping to find some help here.

wait I think I'm just blind, I read through all it again and apparently the xml overrides the icon in the hbmenu, so it doesnt create a new one.

wait nevermind that's just for the icon and description data. now I'm even more confused
