How do I load up Mario Kart8 mods on a CBHC'd Wii U?

Be sure the mod file is only titled Rosalina and take away the swimwear.

As you are replacing the game file when it's loaded by the game, it will only look for the original file name ie Rosalina, in it's original location however sdcafiine will load the modded file from sd instead so naming and correct structure is key.
i didn't made the mod btw, it was published on gamebanana



mod file names:
Rosetta.szs (Model)
RosettaSwimwearCMN.png(CSS icon?)
RosettaSwimwearMap.png(Minimap)
RosettaSwimwear.png(CSS icon?)

Just saw your modpack contents post....

The files for the COMMON.szs are the icons for the menu and race map.

These must be injected into your copy of the MENU and COMMON szs files with switch toolbox as those szs files are containers holding a lot of info and ingame icons.

The menu and common files can then be placed in sdcafiine but i forget the exact path right now.

well, you could always overwrite the files. games are in usb/sys/title/50000/title id/ then probably content as there should be a code, content, and meta folder. you can get content id from wii u brew or something.
i dont want to tamper the original files, the Game came preinstalled with the Wii U and i dont wanna mess with it.

then copy it to usb. you won't affect the preinstalled title. you'll essentially have two copies of the game.
Im using an SD card, my 256 USB drive is unreadable by Windows due to it being formatted by the Wii U, and My Gamecube USB dri ve barely has space

Don't take this the wrong way but either your doing something wrong or you have something that doesn't work. Check your sd content paths are correct. I assume your sd card is working ok in the wii u?

Sdcafiine works perfectly well with cbhc as @MikaDubbz, myself and countless others can testify.

Are you sure your mod is for wii u and not switch? These are obviously not compatible with the other system.

Also your paths have to be correct in name as i mentioned earlier, the rosalinaswimwear will never load as there is no in game file called that. The png files can be replaced in switch toolbox in the original files located within mwnu and common szs fioes without renaming but I would suggest you dump your copy of mk8 to familiarise yourself with the games file system and folder names.

I got that info from "first-hand experience" aka, it didn't work for me.
Well I can tell you from much of my first hand experience that you are absolutely wrong. You probably just have your file structure messed up on your SD card. Like I bet you have your mod folders so you can select your modpack but inside each mod folder they aren't properly structured, like you probably don't have your content folder immediately inside each modpack's folder and instead just put all the files directly on the modpack folder.

they're obviously not the same, no. I've had issues with a few things with cbhc, and mocha worked without issues, just have to put syshaxxml=1.

this may not work completely on haxchi (not sure), but here's one of the apps that had some problems for me as well as someone else (though it was only one option that had issues, and I forgot what it was):

also, I had some issues installing indexiine on cbhc, but I'm not sure if there was a way around it. no issues on mocha.
