So I have just started playing my wii again since like two years ago.
I saw that an update was available for my Wii, I am currently running version 4.3U.
I tried opening my SD card and it gave me an error as well.
I currently do not have any hacked channels on my home page, no gecko, no hacked games from the nintendo shop, nothing.
I really want to know if it is hacked or not so I could update my wii without causing my wii to Brick.
Any help would be appreciated so much. I'll post a picture of the files on my SD card, Thanks!

(I Honestly can't figure out how to upload the pic :/ )

If you don't want it hacked then don't worry and feel free to update via online update and you'll be fine (unless the wii is a korean wii that was region changed, but unlikely)

If you want it hacked then just download ModMii and run the wizard on your PC and you'll be fine.

I do want it hacked to possibly run games off of an External Hard Drive, but I dont want the wii to brick itself if I run a hack over a current unknown hack.
I honestly forgot if it is currently hacked as I have not used it for over 2 years. I have no hacked things on it like I said, so its hard for me to tell :/

It says that the file for ModMii has been disabled.
Is it recommended that I stay at 4.3U?

I have another question, If I ever wanted to un-hack my wii, how would I go about doing that?

You would uninstall the homebrew channel, and anything else you installed while your wii was "hacked" (such as patched IOSes, forwarders etc) If you really wanted to make it look unhacked, you would have to reinstall any stubbed ios that you may have removed. If you just want it to looked unhacked, you'd probably be fine with just removing the HBC

careful when uninstalling stuff or installing stubbed IOSs. If u don't know what you're doing then u can easily brick yourself

If you're trying to make the wii seem unhacked to the average joe, removing any custom channels\themes is good enough. If you're trying to trick nintendo into thinking it was never modified, reinstalling stock content isn't good enough, you'd have to use pune's ohnesswartzeneger (sp?) app and a few other tricks.

Oh man, so there would never be a way to completely un-hack it.
I guess that's a downside.
Hmm, alright thanks for the help!

only if you're on warranty and you think you might need to send your wii back to nintendo

Yes, you can completely unhack it. Some people are scared to do it because there is a risk of a full brick if the power goes out during the process, but how unlucky are you?

The only time you'd ever need to go to that extent is if you had to send it to nintendo, and if you did have to send it to them it won't matter if the wii is completely bricked.

Well I've already had one Wii bricked.
I was installing a wad and I tripped over the power cord.
Well i won't need to send it to them because its out of warranty.
I guess I'll do the hack! Thanks!

LMFAO! That's an epic fail moment right there. Sorry to laugh at your misfortune, I feel for you dude... but it's still funny.
Yea, I guess it wasn't the smartest idea to have the power cord running along the entrance of the room.
Haha its completely fine man, at least I got another Wii!

When I first read the title to this thread, the first thing that came to mind was this...
