How do I go about installing a less crappy firmware on R4I-SDHC?

I just got a new flashcard from R4I-SDHC.com, to use the NDS forwarders, and it's firmware is absolute crap. I've heard there's a way to install YSmenu on these things over the normal firmware, is it worth it? I've heard there are issues with Pokemon BW/BW2 on YSmenu, though. Is there a better firmware to use? I'd much appreciate help. Thanks!

I've also seen RetroGameFan's thread - is that an installable firmware?

Check out my instructions here to directly boot YSmenu. About Pokemon, some people have issues and some don't, so it's worth trying.

Perhaps it does not work on newer r4i-sdhc.com cards. The patch was made from the instruction posted here. You can dual-boot it instead but it might defeat the purpose for you. I have had mine set to boot by pressing the middle icon of the menu where Moonshell is default. If you are interested you need to edit multimedia_path.ini. Remeber to restore the original r4.dat.

Other than this I don't believe there are any other options.
