Hacking How do i get english patches to work?

Do I just drag it onto my acekard and it will find it automatically?

No, usually you apply the patch in Windows which modifies the .nds file and produces a new patched .nds that you then put on your Acekard.

I can't really be more specific without know what you're trying to patch, but in general the instructions come with the patch.
