I'm still surprised that there is no homebrew internet browser for the wii.
I mean think about it, you would be able to add flash 9 support, possibly tabbed browsing etc.

It wouldn't be too hard would it? (not that i would know how to make it)
Frankly, I'm sick of the opera browser.

I don't actually see the point of the Opera browser at all.
If it was quick and fully functional that might be a different story, but for the most part it sucks.

well one would think so. however it is a little more difficult to code a full fledged homebrew browser.

PSP for example. Has a very large homebrew community, much larger than the wii's, and yet the only homebrew browser is the GNU browser Links, which is fully a port.

If you want to browse the web on the wii, your stuck with Opera unfortunately, and i thinks this will be the only option (with the exception of something coming forward with wii linux).

I just thought that if it's on linux, it can be ported over to the wii.
Although I've never used linux, I know it does have an internet browser.
I honestly don't see what's so hard on it, it actually seems fairly simple compared to all the emulators and homebrew flying around.

with wii linux you run the issue of memory, you just cant get enough to cache anything (i.e. buffering vids etc etc). there is a browser for wii linux, but in no way is it more functional than wii opera....

it may seem easy but it really isnt. most of the emu's for the wii are just ports of other emu's already available, thats why you see so many emu's flying around....

it would be nice though...
