I've never used a flashcard before, but there was a deal on R43DS cards on the site, so I ordered a couple. Still waiting for them to arrive, but I can;t get a straight answer from them. How do flash cards work? Do they modify the system an any way or do they just act like official came carts? If you remove the R4 from the system, does the system again act like an unmodified system? If the card stops being compatible with the 3DS, does it just not work or what? I am sorry if these are newbie questions, but in this case I AM a newbie and I can't find these answers anywhere.... I HAVE looked. Thanks!

They don't modify the system itself, they basically run ROMs through DS-Mode and basically function the same ways as a DS game.
The Flashcard does not write any code to the system, so removing it will revert the system to it's default functions since it only runs in DS-Mode.
