Dam is my thread still "alive":rofl:

To all of you that is asking, just use a Jig and use AutoRCM.
Or better yet buy a RCMLoader so you don't have to connect the Switch to PC everytime you shut it down completely.

Rcmloader + AutoRCM means that you don't need to use the jig anymore:sleep:

    1. Atmosphere has grown since Day 1, yes. That doesn't mean it wasn't first. Also, XCI files have no advantage over NSP files.
    2. I'm not talking about the complaints of pirates. I'm talking about TX stealing Atmosphere code, and I'm talking about critics of Atmosphere sounding ridiculous in part because of this fact.

    Correction good sir.

But seriously, I can give two shits what anyone uses. I prefer atmos and recommend it because today it, in general, is a better solution for CFW. At the end of the day, I'll still be enjoying my Switch regardless of what anyone uses. But...

When you have people like the guy we have been quoting, giving bad info and potentially giving info that may result in some kid getting banned or even a broken Switch so he can just get flamez in at atmos... Not cool.

EBay sells the jigs for a mere coupe bucks. I ended getting three for like $5. Even if you only use them once, still a good price

You basically danced around the entire replied i made to this thread as Op wants ease of use. You avoided every point i made that you knew was valid like the fat32 4gb limit and being forced to install every game as nsp with gold leaf and it variants. no one ever mention code being stolen or not but thats a tipical reply from SX OS haters when they have nothing else they can say. in regards to 90 dns and incognito if your running both you mite as well be self banning your self all together.
simply put Sx os is a easier user friendly alternative with simple copy paste of xci files vs the over complicated mess that atmosphere forces you to conform to interms of problems with installers be it over wifi or usb with almost 95% of games being over 4gb that anyone would actually wanna play and thats a fact no one can change.

the OP simply is looking for a very easy way of running his set up without a jig or being tied to a PC or extra cables i assume and i gave him a real and educated answer to his problem instead of playing free vs paid fan boys with me you could have just gave the Op a actual solution as i did as in the end no one give 3 fucks where the solution to there needs comes from or the drama from it makers but that it does indeed resolve the problem they wanna solve in terms of piracy

IPLbug, what is your Discord if you have Discord? I'm asking for your Discord because I don't know what to do with the files in the post. I'm new to Switch Hacking. You told me that I don't need to do the Jig thing right? If you have Discord, can you give me your Discord? Can you explain the steps to me in Discord?

I will take this one at a time, because you apparently didn't read my last post.
You get ease of use with Atmosphere. The only difference is how one might choose to load backups. With XCI files, you have to put them onto a device and load them. With NSP files, you have to install them, and the amount of time it takes to install an NSP file is comparable to the amount of time it takes to put an XCI file onto a USB or SD device. In addition, it doesn't get much easier than HBG/JITS.
As I said before, FAT32 is not required with Atmosphere. Because of the buggy Switch exFAT drivers, however, FAT32 is recommended. This is true with SX OS and stock OFW too.
Goldleaf is not recommended because it's buggy. I recommend blawar's Tinfoil (or better yet, HBG/JITS).
SX OS regularly steals code from Atmosphere. This isn't incidental. However, even if we were to throw away the ethical concerns, it makes any argument against Atmosphere from an SX OS fan pretty silly, since SX OS is largely Atmosphere code.
This is the only way to prevent a ban when using a dirty NAND online. Stealth Mode on SX OS has the same problem. If you want to play online, use a clean sysNAND and a dirty emuNAND, which Atmosphere can do. When it comes to ban-prevention, Atmosphere can do anything SX OS can do.
Installing a game with an NSP-installer like Tinfoil takes about as much time as pasting an XCI file to a USB or SD device. And, as I also said above, it doesn't get much easier than using HBG/JITS.
    1. FAT32 is not required with Atmosphere.
    2. It's just recommended, regardless of which CFW one uses.
    3. A game bigger than 4GB can still be installed to an SD card that's formatted as FAT32 if installed from an NSP file. All one has to do is install the file over USB, FTP, or split the NSP file and put it onto the SD card.
The OP requires a jig, regardless of which CFW he chooses. There is no reason to pay for SX OS when Atmosphere is free, but it's his choice if XCI-loading is worth the price to him (it's probably not).

To get back on topic, OP can hack the switch by using a paperclip jig, and that can be used to install AutoRCM. If OP doesn't have the correctly sized paperclip or want to use one, a cheap jig can be ordered online. It's probably not worth overpaying for SX OS.

SX OS can use NSP as well... If SX users are saying XCI is easier/better/faster then they are probably right because they have both options and have tried both options. Somebody who has not tried XCI can only form a mostly baseless 1 sided opinion. That opinion is likely formed by what other people who haven't used XCI have said, but like to argue there is no advantage as a way to justify their decision to pirate with a different piece of software.

I use SX and prefer XCI, but at the same time I'm not bothered if I acquire (heh) a game in NSP format. Copying XCI over with a USB3.0 Micro SD card adaptor or HDD is a lot quicker than installing an NSP. I cant think of a single time when I've been in a rush or cared though. I usually copy the game over and put the switch back in the dock for my girls to play the next day and get back to the PC Gaming Master Race!!

Back on topic... The topic was created almost a year ago. The OP probably chose which direction he was going to go down and now has an opinion of his own and doesn't care for the thread. I could be wrong though, I've not read through it :shit:

I'm not bashing SX OS, nor am I saying some people don't find XCI files easier. I'm saying, as someone who has tried them both, and someone who knows various SX OS owners, XCI-loading doesn't appear worth the price for 90-99% of users. It was the same thing when CIA-installation became possible vs. Gateway's 3DS-loading.

And, my main point is just to correct the blatant misinformation above.

Not trying to throw fuel on the fire, but my experience with sx and atmo. Xci loading isnt really fast than an nsp (this was back during sx 2.5.2 or somewhere in there). I ended up having performance issues on some games in xci, for comparisons I tried the same games in nsp format (converted it myself) and didnt have the same performance issues. Granted this was a while back.

how can having to install a NSP file be better than just being able to run a XCI file pasted to a SDcard or HDD.

not forgetting Super XCI files (which includes updates and dlc's, everything in a single xci file)

I've been using SX since it came out and only use NSP files when a really have to, which is rare now.

very few problems with XCI files, I've had NSP files that have not worked, but getting the file from another source
    usually solved the problem.

so this is coming from someone who has used SX for around 18 months and I can use NSP or XCI files but if there is a XCI version i'll always go for that one first.

Tbh I'm not exactly sure, but that was my experience. The one that I remember most was a super xci of fire emblem warriors. I ran it through a hdd on my dock. It loaded up fine till I got into some battles. That's where I would get skips, button input lag and few other things. So for some giggles and satisfy my curiosity, I converted it to a nsp and the same battles no longer had those issues. The only thing I can think of that would potentially cause issues with it was my sd card was exFat (this is a long shot in the dark since I know nothing bout coding or anything of the sort)

Wow Lassy, you are truly the #1 GateHate AtMoron. This is just like your countless BS posts about Gateway.

XCI Loading is only half the story. XCI + USB. Get it right. 2 KILLER features that all Atmo users bash because they don't have it.

I have a 5TB HDD on my switch.. Beat that SD!. OTG cable for on the go,

LOL I love how many facts you omit when you are "correcting" everyone. Where did you learn that behavior. I bet your Dad tries to "Correct" you all the time.

Besides, what do you care. You are a pirate.

Can someone explain how untethered coldboot turned into a debate between SX OS and Atmosphere? Both CFW require the same items to boot.

Again, dont listen to this guy. He has no idea AT ALL what hes talking about. You want a broken or banned Switch, then go for it. Otherwise, listen to what Lacius isaying. He's got the info dead spot on correct.

How is carrying around a hard drive beneficial in real world applications like for example, playing your Switch on a bus or train on your way to an appointment? Seems kinda tedious and annoying for the quick go. Dont get me wrong, it has its uses but for the average on the go user it's just not practical.

you could use a 1\2tb 2.5 inch hdd but you could use a usb stick or a M.2 drive in a external case or like me a 540gb SSD drive for extra storage and run the games from there or use SXinstaller to copy and paste the game to your SDcard , I've taken it on holiday no problems. but you can easily connect the drive to your dock to increase your storage at home.

I copy any new games in XCI format to an external 540gb SSD drive and connect it to the switch, if the game is any goodthen use Sxinstaller to copy the game to the internal SDcard. this means i hardly ever have to remove the SDcard or turn the switch off and also it's pretty fast a copying.

i never said he doesnt need a jig i just simply pointed out or was trying to imply if hes gonna get a jig and seem to wanna ditch it as soon as he gets it and run auto rcm that he mite as well get a sx os pro to have a injector on hand as it seems he not very tech savy and it seem like a more user friendly approach in his case vs having him run atmosphere and screw his switch up by some mistake he mite make so i pointed out real comparisons vs the 2 OS and its draw backs.

in regard to your hhd comment your clearly just hating on a feature you havent used as almost adult users rarely use there switch on portable mode but instead use it as a home console.

Can you install FAT32 without doing the Jig thing?
