I heard that befoe the 3DS came out there would be a way for nintendo to find out that we are playing flash cards if the consoles were sent in for repair, is this somthing to do with the activity log? Does it actually hide information when you delete play data for your games?

I've been thinking about this as i've been wondering to get a new flashcard for my 3ds
(And if there is a problem, i'll just use it on my dsi:))

Well, I was thinking tha flashcards now actually imitate a retail game, I guess nintendo can't track it?

And I guess you can't abduct everyone who has stormbreaker recorded on their 3ds :)

They don't even need to use the 3DS to know that you're playing flashcarts. All they need is the internet and GBATemp.net :P

There is no way that they can see that you are using a flash cart.

The inward-facing camera records the reflection of the screen off of your eyeballs. The 3D sweet spot is designed to be that small in order to always keep your face in the optimal position to record your eyeballs. The reflection is then analyzed using neural networks to determine what game you're playing. If the game you're playing doesn't match the game the flashcard is pretending to be, they know you're using a flashcard.

the 3ds keeps track of all the games you play and how long you play them. considering most flashcards spoof games that noone plays it would be very easy for nintendo to tell which ones are not legit.. ie a game that on average has 50 hours of play all the sudden has 500 hours of play by some... give them a break they are not as stupid as you think. also as said above they could also be doing things like checking if certain files exist.

can they really do that much with this info, not likely. they would have done that with the wii or DS. i wouldnt be to scared .

Granted, but that doesn't prove a thing. It might just so happen that I really really really like Fish Tycoon. :ha:

"Your honor, our records show the defendant has played an especially inordinate amount of Fish Tycoon."
"I'm sorry but all that legally proves is that he's horribly dull."

    It's the eyeballs, I tell you. ;)

2 words. Activity Log. They stated our info is collected. I'm sure they could have a way to know. Do they care if a single person does it? No. Only thing they care about doing is patching/discouraging it.

what would be a useful idea by the flashcart companies is if they have an option which the user can change every so often to show the flashcart as another game cart so that the tracked playlist doesnt always show the same game name over and over.

If I go to my 3DS played game log (or something like that), it is listing that my USA console played a JPN DS game titled Dorasu. Previously the AK Team used that game to bypass a firmware update. Wich obviously couldn't be done without a flashcard.

This is one way that Nintendo could use to find out.

DS games aren't region-locked, you can play a JPN DS game on a US 3DS.

Because Black was released after the DSi. It has to be a game before the DSi, those are the ones without signatures.
