Most likely people are working on compatible exploits as we speak. I know TeamH2O has one in the works iirc.
But I am truly sorry for the updating. We all have those moments.

If he wasn't using CFW, which it sounds like unless he accidentally updated on sysNAND w/o using A9LH, he cannot follow that solution. Maybe if he had a nand backup someone could solder it for him but highly unlikely.

Actually 11.0 can be downgraded with hardmod only. So once he was hardmodded, he could downgrade back to 9.2, than update back to 10.7.
