I bought a new lg optimus 2x (P990) and it came with android ver. 2.2.2.
I went to software update and no update was available.
Then I searched a little and I didn't find out how to update my phone.

So I'm asking here to see if someone can help me.
And did I also mention that I don't want to go the "rooted" way?

There is no official Gingerbread update for the O2x yet, as far as I'm aware. You could install a custom ROM, such as CyanogenMod or MIUI, but that would require you to root your phone, which you don't seem to want to do. You've got to make a choice between a newer OS or your phone's warranty, pretty much.

Some regions receive system updates before others. I believe T-Mobile has released the Optimus 2X Gingerbread update for American users already. I'd say be patient, or find a way to flash a ROM without rooting. Search XDA Developers and see if they can help.

    Thanks Fireemblemguy.

@Terminator02 I tried that and it doesn't list an update.
