Gaming How can I rewrite PK3's into Wads?

What can I do to rewrite or convert a PK3 into a Wad. Gzdoom doesn't run well on my computer but Doom 2 does for some reason. I want to rewrite a companion mod if that helps any. Also I am very much new to this subject. Any advice would be great. Help?

Install SLADE 3, then open the pk3 mod in SLADE. Now create a new wad within SLADE, then dump all the contents of the pk3 into the wad then save the wad. I could also be wrong about this, but pk3's can hold directories/folders, wads can't. Also some mods (i.e most if not all pk3's based mods) are ZDoom/GZDoom specific mods, that's something to keep in mind.
