If you're asking where to download XCI files, you cannot share those kinds of links here.

If you use SX OS, you copy all your XCI files at the root of your SD card.
Then, you go to album and all your XCI files will show up in "Games" folder of SX OS menu.
You select the one you want to play, then it will pop-up on the home menu with your other installed games and you can enjoy it.

You have to "mount" the game this way (go to album > games > launch your XCI) everytime you want to play it.
Or you can use Tinfoil to install these XCI (basically it will transform them into NSP) so they are are always available on your home menu. After an XCI is installed, you can delete the XCI from your SD card.

Actually, there is one last option.
You can also use SX Autoloader (check on Google for download link) which auto-mount the XCI files for you, which means you can select an XCI file from the home menu after you launched it once, and it will start without having to go to Album > Games > Launch XCI

Just thought while you seem to have your answer I thought I'd add this just so you know, I'm not 100% on these as I haven't personally tested them all but I like to keep a little order on my SD (blame my ocd for it XD ) but I noted this down from a changelog many releases ago that the SX OS scans a few paths and any files in these folder is *supposed* to be found:

    /sxos/games
    /sxos/xci
    /sxos/nsp
    /sxos
    /switch/games
    /switch/xci
    /switch/nsp
    /switch

Also found a longer list someone posted included these too but can't vouch for it,
    /sxos/updates
    /sxos/dlc
    /switch/updates
    /switch/dlc

Found the changelog but not sure if I can add it here, but it's for version 1.5

I can confirm you are fully right. The full changelog is:

"Some people complained that they didn’t like all the XCI/NSP/NRO files in the root of their SD card. We have to agree that becomes a bit messy, so the menu will now scan the following directories as well looking for game content:
    – /sxos/games
    – /sxos/xci
    – /sxos/nsp
    – /sxos
    – /switch/games
    – /switch/xci
    – /switch/nsp
    – /switch"
