I tried BatchDPG to conver FLV to DPG, But it doesn't work,

always shows this error message.

thats an .avs file, thats why it work, look for the .avi file.
The AVS file is automatically generated by BatchDPG, which contain the instruction for AviSynth to properly read the multimedia file with the appropriate codecs. BatchDPG use DirectShow codecs, so whatever that can be opened in Windows Media Player can be converted with BatchDPG.

ie if you have a DivX file you want to convert to DPG, you first need the DivX decompressor so AviSynth can interpret it.

For his FLV file, he is simply missing a DirectShow codec for it.

Personally I've been able to convert FLV directly to DPG using DPGTools for ages, though SUPER also works. I'm sure if you got the right codec they'd work with BatchDPG as well, but I never bothered to get it working.

I can't get FLV files to DPG using BatchDPG, it gives me the exact same error except I made sure it is an AVI file not a AVS file.

For BatchDPG to work with FLV files, you need the FLV Splitter DirectShow component, and FFDshow with FLV1 and VP5/VP6 video decompressor. To test it before encoding, launch an FLV with Windows Media Player.

Whatever Windows Media Player can open successfully, BatchDPG will be able to transcode it.

For better quality encoding, use SUPER (SUPER Fever Link).

Download the .flv file using whatever method you feel like (I tend to just use a Greasemonkey script for Firefox), open up SUPER and choose .avi (or mpg) set your quality settings, drag and drop the file into the Encoding bin and then select Encode Now.

After that, use whatever DPG converter available to you.
I second this. Using the SUPER converter, convert the .flv files directly to .dpg. The quality is not bad too

The problem I had with Super when I converted a vid to dpg was that it completely letter-boxed it. I mean on the left and right sides too. That sucked. I went back to BatchDPG.

SUPER is fine for converting vids to a format that's compatible with BatchDPG, but it kinda sucks for converting directly to dpg. At least it sucked as far as I'm concerned.

Actually, I tend to use a program called Total Video Converter to convert vids to a BatchDPG compatible format when I need to. Works MUCH better and is MUCH simpler to use than SUPER. Of course, it's not a free program......unless you're crafty about how you obtain the program.

Lum being topless and Ranma always topless when turning female wasn't sexual
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
also the old anime adaption of Urusei Yatsura had more fanservice than the manga
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
That's one of the issues I have with ecchi stuff recently, it focuses too much on the sexual aspect, not the comedy effect.
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
The manga had it's fair share.
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
I mean, Lum was supposed to be a one time character
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
ecchi anime focusing too much at fanservice was always a thing
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
Rumiko Takahashi got so much fan email about the character that she brought her back in the manga, it was going to be completely different originally (with the alien of the week type).
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
also i m a takahashi fan and i love ranma
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
There are different ways of fanservice
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
the first manga I bought, was Psychic Academy, when I was like 12?
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
    That was good 2000s ecchi
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
    Great plot too
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
