vixy.net. Copy URL , set target format to .avi, downlaod, convert to DPG.

BatchDPG directly converts flv's to dpg. So does Super Video Converter. Don't know about DPGtools though.

For better quality encoding, use SUPER (SUPER Fever Link).

Download the .flv file using whatever method you feel like (I tend to just use a Greasemonkey script for Firefox), open up SUPER and choose .avi (or mpg) set your quality settings, drag and drop the file into the Encoding bin and then select Encode Now.

After that, use whatever DPG converter available to you.

For better quality encoding, avoid SUPER and stick to BatchDPG

I've only ever used BatchDPG. Are the other converters faster? BatchDPG is slow as sin.

    NONONONONONONONONONO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Go to this website: www.mediaconverter.org

Enter the URL directly and select .avi from the drop down menu. Then when it says download or something, make sure you right-click and choose save link as, or it might open the video in the browser (for some people), and you will need to do it again.

Then you can use BatchDPG, THE best converter. I used it to convert Simpsons Season 1 and half of Season 2 now and it's working just fine.

EDIT: Other websites might work fine, but this website is the best. At least it's cleaner than most sites, more professional.

I'm told that Batch can add subtitles. Is this true? Are there any other features that make this one the better of the convertors out there?

This is true. Just remember not to add the same subtitle for multiple video files;).

Does it really matter how you convert the Youtube video? Like, does it matter if I use vixy or mediaconverter?

It doesn't matter as long as it comes out nice.

    But I prefer mediaconverter. [IMG]

I've always used vixy. As long as it works, it's good enough for me. [IMG]
