Hardware How buy a New 3Ds XL with IPS

Hello, i want to buy a New 3Ds XL soon and want to get sure that i get one with the IPS screen.
But whats the best way to test this at the store? Is it posible in the store to unbox one and power on to see? And if yes, how really get sure which screen I see? i mean i am not sure if i can distinguish between TN and IPS if i only have 1 system

And ideas?

there is no way to tell without opening it and turning it on and there is no way a store would let you do that they'd have to either sell it as used or send it back to nintendo, in america though and this is not a confirmed fact but it seems like the newer special edition 3ds's fire emblem fates and the pokemon 20th have a much higher percentage of ips panels than ever before. so maybe just try to get the newest one possible and hope for the best.

I also want one with max. firmwareversion 9.2, i think this new versions have newer firmwares?

i'm sorry but you wont be finding below firmware 9.2 today, even on the day they came out feb 13th last year about half of them had 9.3 already.
