Gaming How are my pokemon suppose to mega evolve in pokemon x?

I have Alakazam holding its Alakazite and I have the mega ring, but when I am in battle the game does not show a extra option in order to let it mega evolve. Am I doing something wrong?

It should show up underneath your moves.

I know but for some reason the game is only showing the four move sets and nothing else.

I just beat the third gym leader and beat her the second time, and yes my Alakazam has two spoons.

did you go up on the tower and beat the gym leader a second time? after the fight you'l get a lucario too. then you can use mega evolution.
