Thought this would be an interesting thread with it being nearly Christmas! When and how did you find out old Saint nick was made up? I found out at quite a young age because i caught my dad putting gifts under the tree late one night... I didn't spoil it for my younger siblings though.

Nah really :
Once my parent paid a fake Santa to come on Christmas, while i sat on his legs, my two sisters jumped on him and took off his barber and wig in front of me
Yeah that was brutal
Also for the tooth ferry they came one night and put one buck under my pelow and volontarly made a lot of sound so i wake up and realized it was also fake

I never found out, I just didn't even believe such ridiculousness from the beginning:P Also, my parents made it pretty obvious since they took me present shopping...

My parents believed that it was wrong to lie to children, and so they told me from a young age that Santa was fake.

I tried to tell a lot of my friends about it growing up, but no one believed that their parents would lie to them.

My best friend even presented a card he claimed he received directly from Santa to rebut my claims. And despite me telling him his parents had written it - he was too blind to see the truth.

It didn't help that I told people fanciful stories all the time to try to trick them - they thought my Santa story was just another lie.

I'm not sure I ever 100% believed santa was real. maybe I did around the time I was sick, but I remember knowing the truth after that.

It was pretty obvious to me when you could hear my parents door opening in the middle of the night (I could never sleep on christmas eve).

Same here.
Fantasies are nice, but it's better to not mislead children into lies. They will believe everything, and that may affect them afterwards to know they were lied by their parents --the people they trust blindly.

Wait... SANTA IS NOT REAL??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

SERIOUS MODE : ACTIVATED

Well, for me it was when I was 5. Before sleeping, I checked the house and found a present... I silently slid it back away and went to sleep. Then, I found that exact present under the christmas tree. :(

Well you see, me being the intellectual I am, I knew before I touched feet onto the ground. For I had knowledge of all the crime and betrayal man does before I came out of the womb. So you see good sir, I knew figures of imagination and trickery such as Santa, The Tooth Fairy, and The Easter Bunny to be all figments for a long while.

They should be pretty common screwdrivers so there's a chance

Don't know about the tri-wing screwdrivers though
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
They're basically Nintendo exclusive from what I know so no chance you're gonna find them in random physical stores
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
The normal cross ones you could though so you can probably take out the back cover
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@_Ruri_, they don't seem to be tri wing screws
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
@Xdqwerty, You could have a chance to take out at least the back cover then

Huh according to the iFixit guides it doesn't seem like you need tri wing screwdrivers to disassemble the insides

@Xdqwerty, Dunno if you'll read this but I finished reading the story, I love the humor lol, and the idea of an incompetent hero with a smart kid is really particular, haven't seen it around much. Their dynamic kinda reminds me of Manzai (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manzai) humor, pretty cool

Triwings are often included in phone/console repair screwdriver sets as well - those available in hardware stores. Have to read what's included carefully. Got one myself without realising it first. Usually those with lots of separate bits, torx, phillips etc.

Its been over a year he's been trying to open his 3DS, if you can't even open it, you should not be messing with anything inside, you only gonna make things worse. Find someone to repair it, or sell it as broken.
