I went and dug through the GBAtemp archives to see if there was a decent homebrew music player, but I've discovered that the GBA's processor is just to small and puny to decode mp3 files, let alone xvid or mpeg movies without additional hardware. After comming to grips with that, i think I can handle myself if my GBA will simply put out as a music player. [IMG]

I'm aware of the play-yan, but I'd rather have just one device (that doesnt stick out) to do music and gba roms. [IMG]

Oh and I tried the GBATMW search function didnt render mucch more than what I stated above. :/

    Try Moonshell.
Also, if you can, at 8 December, buy the Nintendo MP3 Player. Works on both GBA and NDS.

I'm looking for a GBA media player. Moonshell is DS only. People say just fork out for a DS but the DS doesn't fit in my pocket like a GBAMicro/SP. As a matter of fact, aside from the processing power i think the gba is better than the DS in almost every aspect.

    What aspects exactly? [IMG]

I remember playing mp3s on the GBA... Does Pogoshell do it? There has to be some tool somewhere...

    Thanks, this works wonders.

    /EDIT/
Question. Is there a way to increase quality (even if is creates a larger rom file)? I'm pretty sure most flash carts won't play roms bigger than 512 meg but if the end user is using removable storage i don't think it would be a problem.

Play-Yan would actually be much better quality than anything you can do on the DS or GBA since it has its own DAC and headphone jack.

Sadly, the Play-Yan doesn't seem to support larger than 1GB cards... [IMG]
