If I put my XBOX Vertical, will it scratch my discs?
Are there any differences other than the area of space it takes?

    My XBOX was Vertical before.
    Then I switched to Horizontal.

I am just wondering if there are any differences between the two.
If I buy a stand, it will most likely be made for it to be @ vertical so yeah.

I believe your xbox is less likely to overheat horizontally. I could be completely wrong though. Thats just what I heard and usually all this vertical v. horizontal stuff is just speculation.

I have my Xbox vertical, and no, it won't scratch disks. You can put it either way, but I think it breathes easier vertical.

I will leave the debate of directions and heat dissipation for another day- discs get scratched when you move the (powered) 360.
Fortunately it usually just the bottom rather than the foil and most of the time you can either resurface them or do an NXE install and use it as a token.

IT doesn't scratch it unless you move it, either way you get the same amount of air flow almost.

I find in RRoD prone 360s, they like to be used horizontal. I imagine it puts less strain on the mobo that way, but that's just speculation.

Otherwise I prefer to use them vertically - takes up less room.

@ pyro - how about upside down?

    --

so from what I am hearing, for it to be in vertical or horizontal doesn't matter; discs will get scratched if you move the xbox while it is powered on. now that's something i won't be doing...

now to search for a stand...
i want a vertical stand that can old either games or controllers on the side.

There's a fan, believe it or not, that sucks in air on the bottom. So it's probably better to have it horizontally.

If you do not own a Jasper(new xbox) have it laying down since you will need air from the lower fan.
