'Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered' gets ESRB rating for PS5 and PC

Back in 2022, there were rumors of a remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn, Guerilla's first game in the Horizon franchise. However, this was not confirmed by Sony nor the developer but new developments appear to add credibility to those rumors. More specifically, the ESRB has provided a recent 'Teen' rating for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered for PS5 and PC, with the following summary:
This is an action/role-playing game in which players assume the role of a hunter (Aloy) surviving through a post-apocalyptic world. Players guide Aloy as she learns to hunt robotic creatures and animals in the wild. Aloy uses arrows, spears, and explosive traps to injure and kill machines, boar, and occasional human enemies. Animals and humans emit small puffs of red blood when struck; one sequence depicts an abandoned camp with large blood stains on rocks and trees. The game contains a brief reference to sexual material (e.g., “Eighteen months hard labor in exchange for thirty years lounging around Elysium watching porn?”). In text/audio files, characters sometimes reference fictional drugs, overdoses, and getting high: “...not even out of junior high and already a drug addict”; “...I ran across a pusher who was selling Razorwing for eight bucks a tab”; "I'd spend a few days getting high, then OD on Overcast." The word “sh*t” appears in the text/dialogue.

While no release date has been provided, nor has the title been confirmed by Sony, a remaster does follow the company's recent trend of its first-party games. In particular, this rating coincides with the recent PS5 Pro announcement and the game might accompany the console's launch.

How much actual work do you think was done on this remaster only for the differences to be marginal?
For that matter, how much R&D you think was done on the PS5 Pro?

My god, what a waste of time and resources. Especially for PC where you can just max out the settings and it would look better than whatever remaster of this the ps5 pro will have. I bet they are gonna bloat the size of the game to 200gb and force you to install it on an ssd also.

If you want to remaster something that people actually want GIVE US WIPEOUT OMEGA COLLECTION or the Nathan Drake Collection you ghouls. Sony literally have NFI what to do anymore

Why? PS4 games can be played on PS5 anyway.
Not only that, but Horizon Zero Dawn was one of the games that received an FPS boost on the PS5.

You can literally play the PS4 version at 4K/60fps right now which makes this remaster even more unnecessary and irrelevant.

In case anyone didnt see it before, remaster or even port Wipeout Omega Collection to PC. since multiplayer would come naturally they could even add a battle pass or microtransaction cosmetics and i wouldnt even care as long as the cost isnt valorant level. Best anti grav racer ever made that has never had a pc port ever, they could do cross play, even have legacy track mode from the original game, 2097, wip3out and fusion as dlcs for 20 a pop if they are that desperate for income. would cost less than a port of a game thats been on pc for 5 years and will look worse than the orignal pc port running on any high end gpu anyway. Life would nearly be complete for me if they could just do that

This is lazy, a cash grab and completely un-needed, the only advancements it's going to offer are faster loading times and slightly better looking foliage.

Honestly, I get that budgets have ballooned and that development cycles are alot longer but I am incredibly disappointed in this generation and have lost alot of faith in Sony, there was absolutely no reason aside from maybe 2-3 exclusive games, in getting a PS5, most first party exclusives have received cross gen releases

Don't forget "realistic lighting"! Because that happens with basically every remaster now
It'll have more "realistic" lighting at the cost of any semblance of cinematography or art direction

Why are we remastering games that are less than a decade old. I'm so confused. There are so many games stuck on older consoles, and we get a remaster of a game that can already be played on PS5 and PC. Can't wait for Final Fantasy VII Remake Remastered, coming in 2026 after that trilogy is done (assuming the 3rd game in that even comes out by then).

Because you imbecile, it's always welcomed to see good games polished even more. Unbelievable how many people complain about this.
Given they are probably just going to take the 4 year old PC version, upscale it and add more raytracing as opposed to the 2017 PS4 version yeah you're right when i'm going to question why.

I really hate the trend Sony is following these days... Total waste of time and resources. Who wants to replay such a long game again with just updated visuals when it already looks phenomenal for a 2017 game?

Ok... NO ideas in 2024 for Sony. I read that Sony was searching for "new licence"....
Really ?? What about some VERY old licences , like :
Infamous, Wipeout, Gravity rush, The last guardian , ....

And what about a very OLD console, like PS3 :
MotorStorm , PixelJunk , Rain, Ridge racer 7 , Resistance , Folklore , Echochrome , Afrika , 3D Dot Game Heroes ,..
So Sony ... A lack of ideas now ?? Awful generation of consoles... really !!

I guess this is for people who somehow didnt play the game already? I dont understand why they are doing this, but its also kind of weird to be upset about it.
