Hori is adding new colors to its line of Split Pad Pro controllers

cGDYsnW.png

Gaming accessory manufacturer Hori is bringing back its Split Pad Pro Switch controller in three brand new color options. Created initially to market towards gamers who wanted something more substantial than just Joy-Cons in order to play Daemon X Machina with, Hori released the Split Pad Pro for the Nintendo Switch. Now, the pseudo-Joy-Cons are coming back later this year. Hori is introducing Transparent Black, Midnight Blue, and Volcanic Red color schemes for the Split Pad Pro, which are set for release on September 7th. Currently, they're available for pre-order for $49.99 on Amazon.

It's very light and sturdy. I love this pad.
Too bad I can't afford another set, or I'd get the blue ones.
The red one looks very sick. Same color like the mario odyssey joycons (which are not longer produced). I love this color.

Only issue with these is no battery so they are not wireless. But I have the daemon x machina ones with a case and is miles better than the joycons for hand held mode.

Wished they included motion controls and HD rumble, especially the first. Now I still have to switch to at least one regular Joy-Con to be able to play games with motion aiming for example. I'd really like to use them for everything played in handheld mode.

It's the best way to play portable, feels like a Pro controller if you held one. Too bad I have to take it out when I need motion control. Example, some shrine puzzles in Breath of the Wild. The one below have motion but haven't tried them.

Yeah...Hori... Nintendo doesn't even cross their mind to make more affordable or different joy-cons... pathetic.

Right? They could split the Pro controller like this, they could make the Lite joycons available ( soft buttons, pastel colors, dpad), they could make SNES, N64, GameCube ones...endless possibilities and official hardware.

Official hardware talking about joycons is not a good thing haha. I have a hori left dpad since about 1 year and never had drifting

This is honestly a disappointment. I pre-ordered the first, hoping they'd pick up on the market and add models with better features (HD rumble and wireless). Well, they picked up on the market and months later... added new colors. Hm.

I love my Split Pad Pro, and would even say it's my primary controller for the Switch. More comfortable to hold, better joysticks, and no drift issues. I just wish they would release a version with rumble and gyros.

Saw Spawn Wave covering that one!

All in all, I might use the HORI Split Pad Pro if someone made a carrying case to accommodate their huge size in comparison to the Joy-Cons. As it stands, it leaves my Switch to be carried with the only protection being the screen protector and nothing else.

No complaints here, owned it since launch. Definitely a huge upgrade for playing action games and/or platformers in portable mode. Would've been nice if they had included even basic rumble, but that's really the only downside.
