For homebrew apps, the source code just needs to be modified. Is there a way to modify other apps or games to output 800px?
Noob question this is a image viewer?
Yes it is, but with a twist, being the 800px mode, making it possible to double the horizontal resolution on the 3DS/New 3DS/New 2DS, but not o2DS
The n2DS has it because it has the same screen as the n3DS. It is technically HD horizontally, but still SD vertically. It isn't used in any game as far as I know800px wide is not HD. It's widescreen SD.
Surprised the n2DS has the 800px wide mode. It's not exactly a standard resolution, and having it probably serves no purpose as official games don't use it, right?
Yes it does, it just doesn't work on 2DSSo this dont work on o3ds?
So it has a 3D screen too? Why would they do that? The n2DS has it because it has the same screen as the n3DS. It is technically HD horizontally, but still SD vertically. It isn't used in any game as far as I know

The "3D" screen is a regular screen, with a parallax barrier added in front of the LCD to divert half of the horizontal resolution to each eye. The New 2DS XL uses the same screen, without the parallax barrier. As to why doing that? Because they can just keep the exact same production line and partners for the display and just use it with or without the parallax barrier as needed. So it has a 3D screen too? Why would they do that?
Not possible. The native DS resolution cannot be changed.Noob question I know, but what are the odds of this being used within Twilight Menu to output 800px DS games?
for what games? Im not aware of any games that squish themselves 2x (by half) horizontally on a crt.Would be amazing if we can get this tech into retroarch or other emulators. Especially if you want to do actual aspect ratio instead of 1:1 without excessive blur.
cp2 runs on 3ds?Also, this is the way cps2 will look in 800px mode on 3ds,
Is there any way to modify the source code of the hori viewer to add your own png files? How would I do this? Not possible. The native DS resolution cannot be changed.
If you mean so that the scaling filter is improved, there's only been little progress, last I heard.
