PS1/2 Hooking PS2 up to monitor

Okay so I'm trying to hook my PS2 up to my monitor via VGA and I need some help.
AUDIO:
How do I merge the two audio cables into one so I can connect them into the one audio jack on my monitor?
VIDEO:
how do I convert that yellow cable (RCA?) to VGA?

EDIT:
So I'm looking at a cable store's collection and I thought of new questions.
Does it matter if it's a X-->Z converter? Could I convert Z-->X with that cable if I have Z as the RCA video cable and X as the VGA?
