Better wait for GW to make its own GWLauncher launches cold boot
I don't know why Gateway team doesn't write an MSET exploit for the old 3DS like the one for New 3DS... I don't want to downgrande whole firmware!
MSET is the DS profile exploit, which was originally o3DS on 4.1-4.5 only and only recently expanded to include n3DS and up to 9.2 firmware, so I don't know why you think it's not available for o3DS.
Isn't possible to downgrade only System Settings in old3DS with firmware over 4.5 to load Gateway "offline", without internet connection, as for old3DS 4.x and New 3DS. I have to downgrade whole firmware to 4.x to do this...

Guy says he is on "old3ds, sysnand 9.0" and the 5th post in the thread someone gives a tutorial on how to do just what you are asking for.

My guess is that the upcoming update is gonna be huge in terms of features. Since the launcher is going to be set to auto-boot I guess there's no reason not to implement the GBA VC since it's basically gonna reboot in Emunand.
Nah, it's possible. It won't do them any harm as it will be same as now (when GW red cart is in slot it will autoboot to GW emuNAND, or else it will load and stay on GW launcher menu)

gw inserted = gw features such as rhe menu, gba vc etc.
gw not inserted = only cia.
My bad then, I saw that he was talking about MSET downgrade and assumed that GW work with it too. I don't know enough about 3DS to really understand why it wouldn't work though. Is the new3DS software that different from old3DS?
That would be the way that would make people happiest, but then you would get a whole bunch of friends together sharing one GW card cause it would essentially be only an installer. I think it would be more like
"Card inserted -> auto boot to emunand, with GW features
No card -> boot to normal Sysnand with no GW features"

Well the Red card is not useless by any means, its used as a DRM check and to play .3DS files. They could easily do this but Im thinking theyre gonna take their time reinforcing their security and implementing that cheat function theyve been talking about. Maybe even GBA VC injection since it would basically just reboot into emunand again.
Edit: Actually when you think about it I bet theyre developing an upgrade to 9.0 for all users to auto-boot, that would make sense right?
