that last sentence is bullshit. winrar, 7zip, are all better than the shit that your pcs built in extractor is capable of.
Yeah... I was going to mention that Dave Plummer's claims to authorship of the built-in Windows Zip functionality are somewhat problematic considering he completely neglects to mention that it was replaced with DynaZip starting with Windows XP. There seems to be much doubt about a lot of his stories.

But as alarmed as I may be at the prospect of people referring to "Dave Plummer's built-in zip extractor", that has nothing to do with 3DS homebrew.

So I found where it says not to use WinRAR. Literally from the 3DS hacks guide itself. Using WinRAR or the built in utility had no effect on my non working 3DS. Any ideas?

If I had other ideas, I would have posted them. (I certainly wouldn't have suggested using a different extractor.)

You should try asking on the Homebrew Discord.

Alrighty then! Just downloaded the app and made an account. Feels like an AOL chat room. It’s taking me back. lol.

Crossing my fingers we find a solution there. If so I’ll make a post. Could be helpful to others.
Best,
