They do pretty much the same both.
FTP acess, Backupping of games to the HDD, bigger HDD (any HDD), Linux, Homebrew, Emulators, Media centre capabilities etc.
Xbox 1 requires a softmod or modchip to do that.
360 needs the jTAG hack or the new Reset glitch (wich still is in development so don't expect much from it now)

I swear like 99% of arcade games wouldn't even exist these days outside of MAME the arcade machines are old and busted very few ever saw any sort of home conversion
