ROM Hack Homebrew Wifi?

I can't get a single homebrew wifi app/game to work. I DLDI patched them but they still don't work. Is it because I'm using an R4, because my router is set so that you need to know the SSID first before you can connect, or it just hates me? Oh, and I already configured the wifi settings with MPH and that works.

wifi apps use the 1st of 3 different sets of Wifi settings to connect...
also, what DS do you have? some versions of the DS are incompatible with certain versions of the wifi library (used in homebrew)

I have my home router in the first slot and I have a US DS lite.

It doesn't work on my silver US DS Phat either. Will someone please help me?
