Hello !

Sorry for maybe dumb question. Is there a way to protect Homebrew Channel launch except taking out SD card ?
I enabled parental control, but it protects all wiiware and configuration, but HBC launches without asking for PIN.
I want opposite - no PIN on games, but password on HBC.

Thanks in advance, Eugene

Copy it to your SD card...
Delete it from your Wii menu..

Take out SD card long the way not needed or so...
Insert the SD card if needed just copy HBC back and go hack again

..What ? How do you plan to copy the HBC channel into Wii if you don't have HBC channel in the first place to install it ? Only way to get it onto a Wii is Twilight Hack... And anyway, if you remove the SD card, HBC can't be used, so why would you bother to stuff around with the channel in the first place ?

Anyway.. would be nice if someone could program a new HBC channel which would use password protection if you chose so.

The HBC is not open source.
But there are other Homebrew loaders. I forgott the name but these are maybe open source.

It is a very good idee with the PW protection of the HBC channel!

A "Forwarder Channel" for the HBC with a password prompt or strike of keys (like 1xA and 2xB will open the HBC) sould also help us!

Is there a talented coder to make such a forwarder?

Do not put install/delete/system apps in the HBC:

Any Region Changer
Any Title Deleter
Softmii
Wad Creator
Wad Manager
WiiConf

Then there would be no harm.

Launch the above programs via SendElf on the PC directly to the homebrew channel.

Aha... okay that is a "workaround" if you have a network/internet connection to your Wii but i need a offline solution!

This is NOT recommended, but will work...

With SystemMenu 4.0, in Data Management/Wii/Channels, use the MOVE command to put the HBC on the SD card, removing it from NAND, and put that SD card on a shelf where the kids can't reach it.

Before you do ANY hacking, remember to use the same method to MOVE the HBC back to the NAND.

Can i hide the HBC from the systemmenü and run it over preloader or bootmii?
This sould fix my problem... the kids don't know how to enter into preloader or bootmii
