So yeah, I'm trying to install the latest HBC through the built-in updater, and it's just...completely frozen on the installation screen. Just says "checking system...". It's been like this for like, five or six minutes now. Any idea why this is happening/how to fix it? Is it safe to just power off my Wii and try again?

Did you run the old HBC installer or the HackMii installer? And have you tried unplugging your Wii for 10 minutes and then starting it up?

I ran the automatic updater when HBC popped up and asked me if I wanted to update.

I did figure out how to fix it, in case this happens to anyone else.

I started the Wii in "safe mode" or whatever it's call, but holding down plus and minus while booting the Wii. Then I went back into the Homebrew Channel and retried the update. It worked, and now my Wii is working again.

@Veho, I still have my GBA SP that I bought from a decade ago. It's been modded to have a clear blue shell, I might go with adding an amplifier to boost the sound cause it's so quiet.

@mthrnite, Personally, in my opinion, I'm not a huge fan of the micros as you're missing out a lot of features, like GB/GBC support and connecting link cables. It's incredibly difficult to repair because the plastic is very fragile and you could easily screw it up if you're not careful.
