    Fired up the HBC and it asked me if I want to update to Beta 8.

    It gets download failed error on 12% for me though.

    Changelog:

    * you don’t need to eject your memcards anymore
    * switched from IOS35 to IOS21, this makes the hbc usable on older firmwares
    * improved SD card loading performance (thanks, svpe!)
    * improved some translations
    * the IP label isn’t cut off anymore
    * fixed argv support when loading SD apps
    * fixed a minor wiiload issue
    * the SD app entries are now sorted alphabetically
    * wiimote rumble support
    * installer overhaul, it now warns you if your System Menu is too new (future updates)

    Downloaded the .elf from hbc.hackmii.com and launched it via the HBC beta 7. Installed perfectly. I'm glad to finally have my apps sorted alphabetically!

    They claim it supports IOS versions < 35, so I guess it'll probably work for my Wii now. If it doesn't I'm gonna be kinda pissed.

    It worked for me, but barely. Even though I have a good connection, I had to try it three times before it would update. After it did, it totally freaked me out by brining up the "system files are corrupt" message upon entering again. A hard reset and it was fine, but I think the updater needs a little tweaking as it seemed to just about brick my wii.

    With that being said, the improvments are certainly nice. Rumble is greatly appreciated as it gives a bit more feedback as to what you are pointing at. Could we possibly get some sound effects now and maybe some nice bg music? It'd also be nice if there was a more "wii channel-like" skin as an option. I'm not big on wasting 75% of screen space on text when the icons could simply be larger and more could be put on the screen at once. That's just me though.

    The only thing I can see now that I would like in a future version is the ability to use tabs, so we can separate our applications. Example: Having a tab to click on for Emulators and another for tools.

    If you name the folders inside the apps directory with 00# before them then they will go in that order. put all of your emulators as 001-009 homebrew games as 030-039 and your system utilities as 050-059 . . . Just make sure to leave space in between the groups dont go directly from 009-010 as two seperate groups. That way you can add programs later into those groups and you wont have to relabel anything. I know it isn;t as handy as tabs, but it helps keep stuff organized [IMG] Cheers

    Sweet, only thing I could hope for now is the ability to shut the system off with the power button on the wiimote while in the channel. But thats pretty unnecessary [IMG]

    Too bad. I won't install this version cause I can use "Bulk Rename Utility" to apply date modified trick in apps folder of hbc beta 7.

    USB Support would be nice [IMG] so it looks up your usb stick to load the apps.
    (Just like Wad Manager v1.1)

    Maybe I am being really stupid, but I really cannot get the alphabetical sorting to work!

    I have tried naming the folders as a, b, c and also 01, 02, 03, but it still doesn't seem to work?

    It sorts the apps by app name, not folder name. (app name from XML)

    It uses app name from XML.
    I put down "A1 Wad Manager" for Wad Manager.

    Anyone know how to turn off the rumble?
