That is incorrect, if you format a 3DS, you no longer are able to download the games normally from the eShop.

Unfortunately no, if you format, you will lose your games. So back up any save files you want to keep with something like SDVT.

However, if you DO manage to get a successful downgrade out of it, then you'll be able to just use "that iso site" or FunkyCIA2, or PlaiCDN with your TitleIDs & Titlekeys to get them and install them as CIAs.

What you decide to do is up to you, I'm just saying there's a good chance that a format will fix your downgrade problem.
Yep it worked! And I got all my games back! Thank you guys so much!

Is there a way to access the internet, or atleast the eshop without updating?

Set date to 1/1/2000, launch the browser, quickly open the browser settings, scroll down, and press the format save data button. Launch the browser again, set it up, and use browserhax as normally. Remember to set the date back to normal afterward.

Edit: removed a weird brainfart i made

What? Follow Plailect's guide either up until and through RedNAND or all the way though and you'll have a setup where you'll be running the latest firmware.

Just make sure you follow ALL of the steps.
I can't tell you how many people skip something and seriously regret it later on that I've met.

It is crucial you follow ALL the steps, especially if you play on doing a full A9LH setup, which is currently the best setup possible.

No nintendo specifically says when formatting a 3ds your nnid can be relinked as long as it's the same 3ds. I did it for my emunand because I'm the 1 percent who felt like formatting the emunand was a good idea. I lt wasn't, but everything worked out.

Since when? You can easily relink your NNID. I've formatted this console around twenty times.

What version would you recommend? It still freezes so I figured it was the version I'm using.

Try aureinand. Remember to read the readme.md and put the correct FIRMs in the aurei folder!
Can I have a link to that? It could be my backup.

just follow the guide in the post
Sweet, I got EmuNAND! I think...How do you know if you have EmuNAND and how do you if your on it?

EDIT: I'm pretty sure I have EmuNand now, and to update it I just go to systems settings and update it while on Emunand? Then I'll have access to eshop on Emunand, and I can redownload my games! Right?

MAKE SURE YOUR NANDS ARE UNLINKED BEFORE DOING SO!!!!!!!! Just a reminder. If they aren't, download the tinyformat 3dsx and open it through the sysnand homebrew launcher. (Hopefully you cloned sysnand to emunand before doing so)

I didn't update it yet. But the thing is, I'm not sure what the sysnand is exactly...All I've done so far is just install cias to my homemenu. Is that bad? Hope not...

Alright, let me break it down as much as I can. I might be incorrect, but at least it worked for me. SysNAND is basically your system. If you have an unmodified 3DS, you are running on SysNAND. Messing with SysNAND (like modifying system files) could get you soft or hard bricked. EmuNAND is basically your SysNAND, but on your SD Card. Think of it as a virtual 3DS. If you break EmuNAND, you can just go into your SysNAND and restore a previous backup. If you do not format your SysNAND after setting up EmuNAND, problems might appear. Changing your theme on EmuNAND will also change your theme on SysNAND, problems with NNID, etc. The most important part is that if your NANDs are linked and you update EmuNAND, this will also update SysNAND! This is why you have to unlink your NANDs with either TinyFormat or the built in format option in system settings. Personally, TinyFormat is better because using the other option requires an internet connection, removing your micro SD Card, and could break some NNID stuff.

EDIT: Also, can someone who knows more than me verify this?
