My homebrewed wii as of a week ago, is powering on, but not sending a signal to tv. It flickers for a few seconds then a black screen. Wondering if it's a hardware issue, or I somehow bricked it without knowing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can u access priiloader by holding reset as the wii is booting up?

Any chance the wii has bootmii installed as boot2? To see if you have this, make sure you have the bootmii folder saved to your sd card and inserted when powering up the wii. If it's installed, it will launch at boot. Here's the bootmii folder

Just a static show and then nothing
Not even the bootmii menu

Did you or anyone else install or uninstall anything within the last week? Or any other people potentially using the wii with access to advanced level homebrew without your knowledge?

From a software perspective, AFAIK the only other things to try is savemiifrii or bluebomb to try entering a homebrew environment, but if the issue is hardware then obv that won't accomplish anything

Well my special needs sister, uses it all the time, and when it starts on bootmii. The first option is always go to wii menu and she presses power "again" and it starts to boot up. But besides that nothing.

Sounds like the wii had bootmii boot2 (or was configured via priiloader to boot into bootmii for some reason, but unlikely under the circumstances).

It's pretty unlikely she could've uninstalled or updated your boot2. So again probably hardware.

Have u tried booting it without your sd card? In the unlikely scenario you have sneek files on your sd card and it's failing or slow to launch your emulated nand, it could lead to a blackscreen. But removing the sd card would ensure it tries to launch the real nand system menu (whereas on a bootmii boot2 wii it would automatically boot neek or bootmii if it detects their corresponding files on the SD card). I doubt this is the case, but thought it was worth mentioning, maybe it will help someone else reading this years from now.
