HOW TO TRANSFER PC SAVE TO SWITCH AND RETAIN ALL ACHIEVEMENTS

Hello everyone! Not familiar to making tutorials but I'll try my best. I found a way that will allow PC saves of Hollow Knight to be transferable to the Switch and have all of your progress transferred. This also unlocks any achievements on the Switch version as soon as you enter your save file.

Instructions
  1. Enter the game on your Switch and create a new game. Exit the game after you are able to save.
  2. Extract the save file with either Checkpoint or a save manager of your selection. (Saves should be saved as user1.dat or any number depending on the slot.)
  3. Go to https://bloodorca.github.io/hollow/ on your PC and insert your PC save file into the browser based editor.
  4. Copy all of the information about your save simply with CTRL + C (duh)
  5. Insert your MicroSD card into your PC and locate your Hollow Knight save file.
  6. Open it with Notepad++ or any text editor of your liking and simply paste all the information of your PC save into the Switch one.
  7. Insert your MicroSD card back and head into the Checkpoint save manager.
  8. Restore the save and see the results. Everything should be there.
Note : You can't copy the info from the PC save directly because it's encrypted. Hence why you need to use the browser based editor.
Special thanks to Type_O_Dev for helping me out with the format of this guide.

Hi Deadliest Fox!

Thank you so much! This is just what i was looking for! I was wondering if you could clarify if that fix works also after the
Nintendo switch online start which binds ones save to ones account or something ... I would definitely buy this game
again on switch but only under the condition that the save is still transferable somehow because I don't want to wast the money and
the time since i made quite the progress on the GoG - version.

Thank you & regards
bock

But the save game file isn't located on the micro SD. It's located in system memory, Nintendo states that it's not possible to save your games to the micro SD. Is there a workaround for that?
