I can either get a DS LiTE + M3Real Perfect Bundle or should i think ahead and get a DSi?

Im looking to play my dumped backups mostly tbh, and around 20others classic GBA/GC/GB roms. But is the DSi worth the £150 it costs?

Tbh, i might just get a DSLite when its price drops, but does any1 know roughly what i will drop to and when?

The emulations gonna be the same, not to mention the DSi is NEW, and doesn't have system specific emulators. I'd get a Lite, the DSi is a waste in my eyes. GBA > 2 cameras with less quality than my cellphone.

If you want to play gba games you need a slot2 expansion and thus you'll need the DS lite (DSi has no slot2)
the chance the price will drop is pretty small (cause then their new DSi would sell less good)

If you want to play GBA games just get a DSlite.

Prices for the DSlite already dropped from EUR 149 to EUR 129 at most shops over here.

IMO you should get the DS Lite...

Many games have GBA compatibility like Pokémon... and the DSi isn't something of the other world... Basically is the old been there done that...

DSi = DS lite smaller with a camera ( 0.3MP sucks anyway) and without GBA games...

    DSL4Life...

No he won't, he specifically said he wants to play GBA games. At least read his post before you go making unqualified statements.

I haven't been reading DSi news lately but I though the VC for the DSi was just a rumor...
And the M3 Real Perfect bundle includes a slot-2 if I'm not mistaken....

He doesn't have a source, because he's full of shit. Next he'll backtrack and say something about how it's obvious that there will be a Virtual Console for the DSi with GBA games, but again he won't qualify the statement and people will believe it anyway because GBAtemp is a shitheap sometimes.

Even if there was a VC for the DSi (I seriously won't be surprised if they do), they won't offer all your favorite GB/GBC/GBA games off the bat. It would be the same case as the Wii.

    DS Lite FTW.

Plus you'd be expected to pay money for them.

Here's something for the OP to consider....

While the DSi might be capable of playing GBA games through its VC, you will have to PAY for those games and the selection will be limited. On a DSlite, all you have to do is get a slot2 flashcart and you can download ALL the GBA games you want for free and you won't be limited to only what Ninty decides to make available through VC.

    Another thing to consider.....

DSlites don't get firmware updates. That means your flashcarts won't be rendered useless by some update. Sure, the DSi hasn't done that yet with the couple of FW updates it has gotten so far, but they want people to actually buy them first before they burn you like that. When they finally phase out the DSlites (and I believe that IS their ultimate plan) then they will get vicious with flashcart killing updates on the DSi. I'd be willing to bet on that.

If I was you, I would buy a DS Lite. It's €40,- cheaper than a DSi. And believe me, it's Nintendo so a price reduction for the DSi takes at least 2 years.

    I decided on the DSLite...

    Why?
Quite simply, Nintendo is turning into Microsoft and Sony, bricking systems and more. I wanted to play my classic games, and the more modern ones.. and the DS Provides this. The DSi is pointless and expensive in my opinion.

Now.. if only someone could release the Opera Web Browser that the DSi has, life would be complete for my emulation needs.

The DSi has the proper hardware to run the browser smoothly. The DSi browser would be just as bad as the DS browser if it were to be put on the DS Lite.
