9.3 and 9.4 were released only 3 days apart, it wouldn't be very likely that production fell within that gap. This is a good sign, thanks for getting in touch with him! :)
There's no way Nintendo would manufacture any units with that 3-day lifespan firmware.
They would wait at least a couple of weeks for it to prove safe.

I believe the launch XL's will be <=9.2 for certain.

He's already downloading games from the eShop (based on his comments under the video) so I'm assuming he never took the time to look and see what the shipping firmware was. I think he just jumped right to updating to 9.4.

I'm interested in how he got his hands on the N3DS XL U so early...

If that's true.. I hope that his father will still have his job.

I hardly think the early sale of one New3DSXL isn't enough for someone to lose their manager position. They'd have to find someone to take the job, has good managerial experience, and has enough knowledge about games to adequately fill the job. It isn't worth it.

Besides, no one cares.

Wow, just thought the same thing when I saw this. If we are waiting anyways, y not? Here's to low firmware on at least the first run.

How r u getting rid of your AUS N3DS? Ebay?

if it's easy to sell then i'm gonna sell my n3ds too

but since GW is region-free i don't know if it'll be worth the trouble

lately I downloaded super mario galaxy for wii, but in the first phase, right in the first cutscene of the game, the game freezes in that part, with the image appearing but completely frozen. I already had this problem with pikmin 2 but in the end I couldn't fix the problem. Has anyone had this problem, and if so, did you find a solution?
