Hi there, James here Liverpool. Hope everyone is doing OK!

I’m kind of a one issue first time poster. I have a Pac-Man Arcade1up my son is now extremely bored of, and would like to mod it so it plays all the 90s arcade classics (WWF, TMNT, Simpsons, Golden Axe, Final Fight etc etc). I like the larger controller boards too (but let’s not get ahead of ourselves!)

I’ve bought the following based on advice;

‘Owootecc NT68676 HDMI VGA DVI Arcade Audio Input LCD Controller Driver Board Kit with Acrylic Case For HSD190MEN4 M170EN06 M170EG01 17" 19" 1280x1024 4CCFL 30Pin LCD Panel, Fit for Arcade1Up Monitor’

but have no real clue what to do next, I’ll be the first to admit I’m absolutely useless with anything like this. If I could pay someone to make all this brain pain go away I’d much prefer that option.

Any advice, tips, points towards a certain direction - all would be greatly appreciated.

(no doubt it’s all already here & someone will call me a lazy f’er - which isn’t entirely incorrect)

Thanks in advance.

hi James,
first thing you need to do is use google and stop expecting people to do the work for you.
If you bought items following advice ask that advice for more advice.

Hi slam. I tried Google, it lead me here.

Thanks so much for the response, incredibly useful - although I would just add that if you need any work doing around your house, let the professionals do the job & pay them their worth. I wouldn’t recommend doing your own plumbing unless you’re supremely confident.

You’re likely to find a Plumber will not only not tell you to do the job yourself, I’d even go as far as to say they’d be happy to do the work, as unbelievable as that sounds. Crazy world we live in I know.

Best of luck.

Im clad you enjoyed my advice and found it useful.

As for doing work around the house, BIG fecking difference between doing something as a hobbie and Fixing a plumbing issue, but as you stated you are * a lazy f’er * and as we all now people like you want anwsers handed to them instead of looking for them self.

Does this stuff usually work?

Angry little fella aren’t you. Hopefully you’re not the benchmark for the entire forum.

Also breast is best bro. Formula baby eh. Mum didn’t want that face anywhere near her boob.

No, this kind of behavior isn't normal. That:
first thing you need to do is use google and stop expecting people to do the work for you.
If you bought items following advice ask that advice for more advice.
is the most unfriendly answer I've ever seen on an introduction thread here.

The point of a help forum is asking for help and not being redirected to general search engines. After all, what should a search engine have as an output when there is no way for people to ask their questions (and get answers).

I'm not understanding what you're trying to achieve.

You got the Arcade Cabinet, and want to add more games?
Be sure to check whether or not the system can be "hacked" in order to add more ROMS.

In case the Cabinet can be hacked; What kind of Operating System does it run?
You need to learn this in order to know how to proceed next.

Does it even has the required MEMORY to flash/add more ROMS to it?
If so, exactly which ROMSET does it accept?

Some 1UP hardware has included emulators (Megaman 1UP "Plug'n'Play" comes to mind as it has NES and GB emulators added in) so, be sure to check if your Arcade Cabinet can do something like that already.

Why did you bought:
‘Owootecc NT68676 HDMI VGA DVI Arcade Audio Input LCD Controller Driver Board Kit with Acrylic Case For HSD190MEN4 M170EN06 M170EG01 17" 19" 1280x1024 4CCFL 30Pin LCD Panel, Fit for Arcade1Up Monitor’
When you're not sure how to proceed next?
Who told you to buy that? For what purpose?

Googling that brings no information other than that being a Driver Board for Video and Audio... so... again... why did you bought it?

Might be mistaken, but, unless you're building your own Arcade Cabinet (PC/Raspberry Pie) I think that "Owootecc NT68676" is useless for your current Arcade Cabinet.

Welcome to the forums,
Angry.. na just no time for lazy people who want things handed to them on a plate without even having a basic look online.

If you walk into a brothel and find a pair of lips on your Member its not magic its because you paid.

pay your dues and stop the lies,
you bought stuff from advice (magic)
you searched google and it brought you here "Arcade building" ( more magic)
a 10 second google search brought a least 2 sites and 4 yt video on converting a 1up to emustation arcade (payment)

your funny kid you really are

Guy on Etsy told me to buy that as it creates a HDMI port. I went back for further info but his shop is gone.

OK so looking at Amazon reviews the piece of kit that I’ve bought basically upgrades the system I have.

Does anyone know what to do once I have a HDMI port? The guy on Etsy said I’d be able to hook something up to it for all the retro games, but I still have no idea what I’m doing.

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.
